<p><em>Various problems faced by mankind today require the presence of religion as a solution. Religion is not only used as a symbol of piety alone, but conceptually is able to show an effective way of solving problems. Such demands can be answered when the understanding of religion that has been using a normative theological approach is also supported by other approaches that can operationally provide answers to problems that arise, one of which is a sociological approach. The urgency of the sociological approach in understanding religion is understandable because there are many religious teachings related to social problems. It is hoped that with a sociological approach, religion will be understood easily, because religion was revealed for social purposes</em></p>Maulana Ira

The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The theory used in this research is the Rational Choice Theory put forward by Jame S Coleman. Based on the results of the analysis it was found that the reason parents still send their children to Islamic boarding schools is because of the values ??contained in Islamic boarding schools, where Islamic boarding schools are believed to be a place for building character for children such as independence, responsibility, and discipline, then because of trust in Islamic boarding school managers, religious values, where the hours of religious learning in Islamic boarding schools are more than public schools or other Islamic-based schools so that children can be more intense in acquiring religious knowledge, and children are more minimized from negative associations that occur due to globalization</em></p>Raudatul AwaliaNanik RahmawatiRahma Syafitri

<p><em>Basically every parent wants their child to be happy, in good health, and have good behavior. Parents also try their best to nurture and care for and guide their children to have better character, in this case parents also have their own way of educating their children so that their children do not fall into negative things by means of violence so that researchers are interested in researching problems in Temburun Village, East Siantan District, Anambas Islands Regency. The technique in determining the informants used purposive sampling technique with a total of 10 informants obtained from the main informants, namely the Temburun Village community and elements of the government. This research uses role theory by Biddle Thomas. The findings of this study are 1). The existence of acts of violence is caused by parents who want their children to be children who are devoted to their parents and do not violate parental orders. 2).
