TRADISI PEMBERIAN KAIN ULOS BAGI MASYARAKAT SUKU BATAK TOBA DI KOTA TANJUNGPINANG

Abstract

^{The tradition of giving Ulos cloth which is an activity carried out in every traditional event of the Toba Batak Tribe community. This tradition is a tradition inherited from ancestors, especially for the Toba Batak Tribe community in Kampung Baru Village, West Tanjungpinang District. The purpose of this study is to describe how the implementation of the tradition of giving Ulos cloth in the village of Kampung Baru, West Tanjungpinang District. The methods used in this study are descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques for interviews, observation and documentation as well as determining informants using purposive sampling methods. The result of this research is the tradition of giving Ulos cloth or Batak people call Mangulosi can be done at the time of a traditional feast such as weddings, 7 months and giving birth and death.
